Pop star Michael Jackson has died, according to reports.
The singer suffered a cardiac arrest at his home and arrived at hospital in a coma, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Captain Steve Ruda, of Los Angeles Fire Department, said in reports paramedics responded to a call at Jackson's home around 12.26pm.
He was not breathing when they arrived. The paramedics performed CPR but he was reportedly totally unresponsive.
Fans are arriving outside the hospital.
Paramedics were called to his home on the 100 block of Carolwood Drive off Sunset Boulevard, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The 50-year-old singer was rushed to the University of California, Los Angeles, medical centre and his family are reportedly at his bedside.
There is an unconfirmed report that Jackson has died but no-one from his staff was available for comment.

The 50-year-old singer suffered a suspected cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles.
He was pronounced dead at 2.26pm Pacific time (10.26pm BST) on Thursday 25 june 2009. A post-mortem examination is expected to take place later on Friday, Los Angeles Coroner's Office spokesman Fred Corral said.
Jackson was about to embark on a comeback tour, including 50 dates in London, which aimed to resurrect his fortunes.
Fears were sparked for his health last month when four of his This Is It concert dates were pushed back, but organisers insisted the dates were moved due to the sheer magnitude of the spectacle.

Tributes have flooded in for pop legend Michael Jackson.
In a statement reported on the BBC website, ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley said: "I am so very sad and confused with every emotion possible.
"I am heartbroken for his children, who I know were everything to him and for his family. This is such a massive loss on so many levels, words fail me."
A host of celebrities from the music and entertainment worlds lined up to acknowledge the star's genius.
Madonna said in a statement on the BBC website: "I can't stop crying over the sad news.
"I've always admired Michael Jackson - the world has lost one of its greats but his music will live on forever. My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless."
In a tribute reported on the website MTV.com, singer Justin Timberlake said: "I can't find the words right now to express how deeply saddened I am by Michael's passing.
"We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only pop music, but of all music. He has been an inspiration to multiple generations, and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him onstage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones."
Singer Cher said on the BBC website: "I'm having a million different reactions I didn't expect I would feel. He was a great singer - God gives you certain gifts and this child was just an extraordinary child touched by this ability. He could sing like nobody else and he was able to connect with people."
Fellow singer Celine Dion added: "I am shocked. I am overwhelmed by this tragedy. Michael Jackson has been an idol for me all my life. He was not only a talented person but he was unique - a genius. It's such a loss. It feels like when Kennedy died, when Elvis died."

News of Michael Jackson's death has caused the internet to run slowly and at times grind to a halt as people scrambled to find out whether the reports were true.
"RIP MJ" is the top 'tweeting' topic on Twitter as fans pay tribute to the King of Pop online.
Actress Demi Moore paid tribute on Twitter, writing: "I am greatly saddened for the loss of both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. Especially for their children!"
Her husband, Ashton Kutcher, also posted: "RIP. Sending love and light to family and friend but especially his kids."
He added: "Plea to the press to respect his wishes of maintaining the anonymity of his children. I plea to the public to refuse to consume media that does not respect the anonymity of Michael's children."
Foreign Secretary David Miliband wrote on Twitter: "Never has one soared so high and yet dived so low. RIP Michael."
Music producer Quincy Jones, who collaborated with Jackson on three of his best-selling albums, Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad, said in a statement: "I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news.
"For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at this young age, I just don't have the words.
"He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I've lost my little brother today and part of my soul has gone with him."
Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of rock great Elvis Presley and who was married to Jackson in the mid-1990s, said in a statement: "I am so very sad and confused with every emotion possible.
"I am heartbroken for his children who I know were everything to him and for his family. This is such a massive loss on so many levels, words fail me."
Actress Brooke Shields, a longtime friend of Jackson, said in a statement: "My heart is overcome with sadness for the devastating loss of my true friend Michael.
"He was an extraordinary friend, artist and contributor to the world. I join his family and his fans in celebrating his incredible life and mourning his untimely passing."

Representatives for actress Elizabeth Taylor, another of the singer's longtime friends, said she was "too devastated by the passing of her dear friend Michael Jackson to issue a statement at this time" but promised one later.
