Riddle me this:
Love. Why is it that we kill ourselves over this one little word? It’s it that we desire it so much we’d do anything to have it? Or is it because we are given the illusion as kids that love helps us find who we are? That in our darkest times me if we can just find love, everything will be better? But love isn’t easy. It’s hard work! It’s about give and take, and compromise! If we just take take take from love, the person that loves us will leave. They have to have their needs met too. So I’m thinking that maybe that we can only find true love in the lightest of times. That maybe, when we’re happy is the only time we attract the love that can truly and fully be given to us. Maybe we have to be in a good space when we try to fall in love. That if we’re in a good space love can find us and bond to us just in time to be there for us in our hour of need. And when they are there for us in a time we need them most, we can be there for them in a time when they need us.
Many say love has healing powers. What the heck does that even mean? If you have a broken leg, love is not going to fix it. However, I believe that if love finds you when you are in the worst part of your life, and it is strong enough to make it through, you can change. I know that contradicts the paragraph above but to me it seems like a point I had to make. I keep hearing all these stories of women finding and falling in love with thugs, gangsters, and drug addicts. These women were so in love with them, that it hurt them to see the guys using, trafficking, and killing that the men could detect it. They saw how much they hurt their women and gave up their vices, moved to the suburbs and never looked back. Well, where is this love? I know I really want it. I want someone to love me so much that anything I do remotely bad, they pull me out from. Maybe their all just fairy tales. Maybe they are stories that no one has ever really experienced.
Well, I must go now. But I leave you with this. Love may suck 99% of the time. But when you find your true love, you will never look back.
