There's something cold and black
behind her smile.
And dreams faded to black
so why didn't she paint it black?
Her artist boyfriend died by an overcast,
A crooked, dark beauty.
That got her to know him from the inside out.
The brink of destruction
fighting the brilliance of visions
that ones nurtured his parts.
Smoke escaped from the corner of his eyes
and he didn't realize whom he had left behind.
An identified dead body
has been discovered by a lover's pills.
The fiction of his death
made her get to know him piece by piece.
That made her go back
to paint it black.
