whats an emo???

hey guys... can you tell me what an 'emo' is?? if your wondering why im asking this when my name is emo kid its because so many people come up to me and say 'hey do you slit your wrists' or 'why do you keep failing at suicide?' so i guess slitting your wrists n enjoying pain is societys view on emo??? but whats your opinion on the emos???

Maybe they cut again because they are hating the fact that they have cut them selves, which makes them emo to re-cut them selves. I don't know, but when someone gets hurt, dont you usually suck it up and carry on?

Its not what happens, its how someone copes with something. As someone who has been locked up for self harming.
I know its no laughing matter.

I cut because it gave my head something to focus on, other than the failings of my life. i'm not going into details, because I'm over that part of my life.
My mum found it, told me I was a stupid child, which made me want to punish myself, and i cut deeper.

Telling someone cutting is stupid, is sometimes the worst thing you can do

Ive been through some f***** up s*** and I dont have any stupidass scars. But I guess thats what makes me stronger. Knowing that I know better than to hurt myself when s*** is bad...

True, people should deal with people who are seriously doing it because they're upset in a different matter than just telling them 'its stupid'. But I'm talking about 12 year old kids...or even older that are doing it to fit under a label...such as "emo". They're mom or dad didn't buy them something....or they get picked on at school so they cut or say they're going to cut...

its all b******* to me..i can't stand it...

There's a difference between chronic depression and teen angst...

saying that. There are groups that use it for social acceptance. Like how when I was at school it was smoking or stealing a bottle of cider.

Which is horrible.
Getting shunned from mates because you won't cut.
That is rediculous, and Im only saying this because a group of kids were caught at my sisters school. Aging from 11-15, they wrote down the intiation into their group, and the more the person hurt themselves, the more respect they recieved.
