I remember I got my tickets about a month before the show, and all my friends were starting to get SO annoyed with me because that was all I talked about. On the drive to the show, Shar told me she was going to kick me out of the van because I kept yelling, "I'M GOING TO SEE GC! BENJI'S REALLY CUTE! I'M GOING TO SEE GC! BENJI'S REALLY CUTE!" The concert itself was completely amazing. Afterwards, I met Benji, and almost shat myself when he hugged me. Then when I walked away from him to go to the car, I cried. ( I was 12, what can I say? LOL ) Then for like, another two weeks at school all I could talk about was how I met Benji and I got hit in the face with a water bottle. I think out of all the shows I've been to, that one was the best. Mainly because they actually interacted with the fans. What about you guys? What was your first GC concert like?
My first and unfortunately last Good Charlotte concert was year ago (actually 1 april 2009).When I heard that they are coming to my country I was really surprised and happy cause Estonia is very little (population is 1,3 million people).I bought my tickets two months before the show.At the night before show I couldnt sleep at all,I was so nervous! And when the show day arrived I cried and shaked like crazy. The concert was amazing, and even better because there were really few people,I think only 2,000-3,000.Best day of my life:)
my first gig was 04 at the islington academy, i'd missed out on other gc shows cause my mum would never let me go lmao. but it was amazing, i remember having the time of my life and on the drive home me and my two friends just say in silence like "....wow" haha, all in all a blast. it was a 'private' gig or something, so only 800 tickets were sold and even though i missed some gc shows before it, i'm happy it was my first. i have a bootleg dvd of it somewhere too but i think i lost it :/
Saw them Cali, US in 2001. Im from Scotland, and the tickets were bought for me on my 17th birthday. Went to see Rancid and Nofx, and ended up getting the piss taken out of me.
Saw them in the November that year in London, it was their first UK show.
First time in London and got completely lost, and almost mugged.
I was on my own, because no one had any money.
I can't remember for the life of me where they played, cause it was this wee dingy place. Smallest place I've seen them in, there would have maybe been 1,000 people if you were lucky.
I travel a lot to see bands, and GC have cost me a small fortune following them. Followed two UK tours, Seen them in LA(Warped), New York, Paris, Madrid and London.
My first GC concert was last year!!April 4th 2009!!!!I wanted to see Gc soooo much but i knew that there wouldnt be any chance of seeing them live in Athens!! So one day on march..an advertisement came on tv at a channel called madtv..and it was saying MAD LIVE IN ATHENS.and there was dance floor anthem playing on the bacckground)I COULDNT BELIEVE IT..GOOD CHARLOTTE IN GREECE??..so i then went online and saw that it would be a private concert and u had to win your tickets.!everyday there was a lottery and i was selected in the first 20 people to go!!!YAY!!and from march 14 to april 4..i WOULDNT STOP TALKING ABOUT GC AND THE CONCERT!(fortunately all my friends like gc so they didnt bother them talking about it!!xD)..and then came the April 4th..when i had a call from madtv that said that due to the bad weather the concert would be on april 4th and not on april 5 as it was supposed to..!!*i started screaming,of course".so i went and i was there watching my favourite band, singing and dancing on the front row!!Best Day Of my life!!!I caught billy's guitar pick(and got a smile from him..)since i was acting like a crazy person!!and the following day i went to the autograph session where i met all of them!!:)
and finally i got a cold and was in bed for a week!!!but it was worth it!!
My first GC show was in 2000 when they opened for MXPX. I'm not really sure that anyone besides my friends and I even knew who Good Charlotte was, but we were very excited. During their set, the guy jumping next to me got his shirt caught on one of my earrings and ripped it out. I had to get off the floor since I was bleeding (I ended up getting stitches).
I went back to the bar/merch area to watch the rest of the show and Benji and Billy ended up coming out to watch MXPX after their set. They were really cool to talk to and they signed all my stuff. Benji actually signed the armpit of my shirt because he wanted to see if it tickled. :)
I bragged to ALL my friends and family about it until they all told me to shut up. It was at the Molson Ampitheatre in Toronto. I was so far back that I could barely see them but still I was 15 and the fact that they were there was enough to make me so happy I could have cried :P You've all been there I'm sure. I didn't meet them that day however I recall my dad being out of town and having left me like a hundred bucks for emergency use only plus spending money and I must have bought $200 worth of GC merchandise. I told my dad I had to cab home from Toronto lmao. I saw Social Code for the first time that day and I still like them. Day of Contempt or w.e made me want to gouge my eyeballs out with a spoon they were so bad. [in my opinion anyways]
I took a picture with the sign I made =) Carrying those on a train makes you look like an idiot. Well I'd assume any form of public transit would have that affect lmao.
MY first GC concert was just last year. I went July 18, 2008... i had plans to see the dark knight with my friend but I totally ditched her :P I remember me and my friend Cassidy had no idea what time to leave so we totally winged it (luckily we got there in time to get good seats ) and i remember while we were driving down there i had to go to the bathroom so we had to stop...then i started getting a horrible stomach ache while we were standing in line so of course there was no where to sit down, so i had to like squat uncomfortably for like a couple of hrs. But the concert was AWESOME! It was like the most fun I've ever had! When it was done we ran out to the back and I saw Paul smoking by the door but it was too far to take a picture, then Josh came out and handed us all DCMA stickers, but unfortunately I couldn't stay long enough to meet anyone cause my dad was sleeping in his car in the parking lot and wanted to get home lol but it was like the best experience ever!
omg I was so cute, I was only 15 (May 3, 2003) and they were playing a venue like 10 mins from my house. It was civic tour with NFG, Less Than Jake, and Hot Rod Circuit.
I remember they had these little police sirens going off before GC went on and red flashing lights and all this s***, and GC came out and I freaked out and my life was changed that night. Couldn't really see but it was just so amazing. After that I was on all the message boards and stuff. XD
my first gig was in april 2008 bristol academy and me and my mate were so excited and my sister came with us. the show was amazing...front row...until my sister spotted paris...and i will tell you...she is probably like the biggest paris hilton fane EVER and she fainted. other thatn that it was totally awesome and i will never forget it :)
it was my first real concert, and i was like 11.
it was amazing, i only reallly remember their set, nothing reallly that happened afterward.
but i met paul. haha.
My first...The very first and I hope not the last one....GC's concert after the Good Morning Revival released...
IT IS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (my boyfriend get jealous of me hahah)
I still remember the feeling in a crowd...scream my lungs out....
JOEL!!!!!!!!! BENJIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!! BILLY!!!!!!!! PAUL!!!!!!!!!! DEANOOOOO!!!!(i think only few of us know the name of the drummer bcoz deano still new when they perform in Malaysia)
There's one song....Oh Joel, I dunno why u pick that song...Festival Song...It's rare known in Malaysia... as usual he sings "tonight! tonight! its all tonight!!" >> and then he want us, the fans to continue the lyrics but all of them just screaming and yelling except me....I help him =P I hope he heard it... "I DONT WANT YOUR BORING LIFE!!!!!" >> me... and then he continue....
I really hope they will come to perform here again....so sad i didnt have the chance to meet them...I have to chase the train...it's 12 midnight oready when the concert is over...T_T
