Vermont has been so cold lately!! I hate it!!!!

It was like 10 below zero all week. New Years Eve was ridiculous!! Plus we've had ice all over the roads by my house and I'm afraid to walk my dog because I'm afraid of falling down on it. A year ago, last Christmas eve, around 10:00pm, my friend was walking her dogs and fell on ice and hit her head. She almost blacked out but told herself if she did, she'd probably freeze to death. She crawled back into her drive way and screamed for her husband who came out and helped her into the house.

It is such a pain in the ass living in a place that has such hard winters. You are constantly cleaning your car off, shoveling snow out of your drive way, getting road salt all over your clothes because the cars get covered with it. Then, the snow gets all muddy and slushy and it looks so ugly. Then trying to drive in it.. What a nightmare. You can't plan on any road trips to shows or anything because you never know what the stupid weather will be like. I've already slid off the interstate this winter and had to pay 125 dollars to get pulled back onto the road. My goal is to move away from here within the next five years.(I'm thinking I'll go to California or Arizona.) I can be thankful for one thing though, I'm glad I don't live in the mid-west as that area seems to get even worse winters than we do.

I would definately HATE living there..especially during the winter. I hate snow..I hate ice..I hate cold..I HATE winter. Therefore, I would definately NOT like the cold of Vermont! :) But your state does have less population then other states and your state is famous for the maple syrup! :) I would love to see a tree get tapped for that stuff! :) Get my pancakes ready! ;)
yeah, we do have good syrup. My sister-in-law's ex-boyfriend owns a dairy farm and during the late winter he taps the maple trees on the farm and boils the sap into maple Syrup. My husband and I used to go hang out with him sometimes while he was boiling inside the sugar house. It smelled really good and he always filled up a couple of jugs for us to bring home- for free!! That was pretty awesome because a gallon of real syrup can be between 35 to 50 dollars!!

But Vermont in winter is so brutal... it sucks and I get depressed every year!!
Quebec has the best maple syrup :). And also much, much harsher winters than VT. I've got a country house in northern VT and I'm always so glad to go because it's a couple degrees warmer than up here in Montreal.
LOL, how funny that you come down to Vermont to "warm up." But you have Montreal, a beautiful, amazing city. All we have are cows. I do know that a friend of mine's mother died in a car accident on her way to Montreal one winter. You have those terrible "white outs" when the snow is blowing because Quebec is so flat compared to Vermont. At least we don't have those down here.
I don't ever want to live anywhere that:

1. is cold a lot
2. gets lots of snow
3. is cold a lot
4. gets lots of snow

I hate snow, ice, cold and wintertime.
baltimore does get snow and sometimes the snow will cause school delays and closings
I know but it doesn't compare to Vermont's snow fall. Just yesterday we got about 10 inches of the crap. It's getting to the point where we don't know where else to put it when we snow
blow our driveway. I can't wait for Spring!!!!
