My Great Grandmother was Blackfoot Native American. You don't know why Joel is wearing that headdress any more then any of us here do. Perhaps he is embracing the Native American culture by wearing it. Did anyone here think it was funny? No. We merely think that Joel looks good. Were there any racial slurs against the Native American culture? NO! Climb down off your high horse and realize that not everyone is an ignorant bigot or an idiot. Your perception that people here were making racial slurs against Native Americans and that by wearing the headdress that Joel is as well..is way off base. Don't lash out at something you preceive as racial discrimination and ill humor at a race of people. Don't blame us here for the hardships your Grandfather faced. Most of us weren't born yet..even me! I've done my research my dear and the atrocities that the Native Americans faced were horrible. I even got in touch and talked to a Souix man. The fact remains..NOBODY HERE WAS MAKING RACIAL SLURS AND EITHER WAS JOEL. You see that someone who isn't necessarily a Native American wearing a headdress and automatically you assume that they are making fun of a race. Not so my dear.

people dress up in everything - from pilots, doctors, police officers...and I don't think that's offensive.

I couldn't have said it better Beverly. I actually think that headdress is very beautiful. If it is authentic, which it probably is, a lot of hard work went into making that. I don't think there is an American living today who doesn't know about the white man's terrible treatment of the Native Americans and I really don't think Joel meant any disrespect by wearing it.

Joel would never do that. And either would any of us here. I take offense that someone has the gall to come on here and act like we were. So this person may be offended..but I'm offended at this person's unfair and unwarrented attack.
