I was being nice and told this one manager I would help him mail out some of the stuff he has thats backed up. Now this dude thinks I'm going to be doing this stuff for the rest of my work career. :/ After this batch that I have on my desk I am doing nothing else for him. I am sorry to be a beeotch but sometimes thats all people understand. :/
I have a bad habit of treating the Disability examiners that I work with like my kids. I "baby" them by fixing things for them, like their forms when they want to reschedule disability exams and their record request letters and the actual cases when they leave our office, etc. My supervisor has told me more than once that I have to stop doing this because they come to expect it. It's just so hard because I like to help people.
I know where your coming from Tanya! I have to learn the art of saying no or just not volunteering. But I was trying to be nice and help this guy out. Now he seems to think I'm his flunky. :/
People are defensive, they tend to think negatively, so that they don't get disappointed when that person lets them down. Its nature for us to look on the negative.
I stopped helping people, because when i needed someone to help me, no one was there. And call me selfish, but i thought 'fuck it'.
Why should I help someone who doesn't give two craps about me
I get that way sometimes. but usually i help out people and then get pissed off later about it. I have a friend who because he decided not to get his license, needs rides to class. so I said yeah sure. problem...he's not helping out with gas:( he doesn't have a job either.
it`s really bad if you help somebody and you get used. i have taken this part so often. meanwhile i say the people must make their stuff themselves and should not be a matter irritating to me on them. I have learnt to be a b.i.t.c.h....;-)..and sometimes i like it....:D
Actually I have often contemplated getting the letters, F.U. tattooed somewhere. Theres so many times I've been tempted to tell some co-workers this. ;)
