benji and paris split?

i signed into msn and it came up with news saying benji and paris have split up...anyone know if its true?

I really hope that after a break they are having right now, they´ll find each other again..they were such sweet couple:/

A few days after Paris Hilton “joked” about swapping boyfriend Benji Madden for royal hottie Prince William, rumors swirled that BFF star was snuggling up to her on-again, off-again beau Stavros Niarchos again. So we can’t say we were TOTALLY shocked to learn that Paris and Benji officially called it quits on Wednesday. Slightly shocking, however, Paris’ subsequent claim that the breakup was mutual (i.e. 100% not cheating-related) and that she and Benji are gonna be friendsies for life…and maybe more.

“[Benji] is an incredible person, and we will always be really close,” Paris told Ryan Seacrest (as reported by E! Online). “We will see what happens in the future. I am still in love with him.”

And as for the breakup?

“He has been working nonstop with his brother on his new record,” said Paris, (who also dismissed the Stavros rumors as “ridiculous.”) “I am working and traveling. All these reports that say I dumped him aren’t true. This is a decision we made together as adults.”

Mutual or not, we all know breakups can be seriously painful. And we have a feeling Paris is gonna need her girlfriends now more than ever.

So step it up, BFFs! Anyone can be friends with Paris when she’s up — but now that she’s down, it’s time to show her you’re not just in it for the free perks and red carpet opps.

According to what I've heard it was mutual and she felt she was losing who she used to be. In my opinion since they started dating I saw her as a human being rather than a walking barbie with a drug/alcohol problem. So he helped her somehow and I hope their still friends =) But seriously I was expected a more modded girl. What ever happened to the riot girl? I'm waiting for it :P
