Good Charlotte

It's my dream to play with my idols again on the same stage. My name is Chris from the band We Drive Yeah. (www.myspace.com/billyandfriends) We played an event with Good Charlotte in Milwaukee. We played a floor below them in the bar, and we met them later, and it was the most amazing day. I want to play with them again, but the same stage. If there's any group of people I would trust to help me, it would be people who share my same heroes. Please, if you can do anything to help make that happen, we'd be forever in your debt. Please, give us a listen, drop us a line, spread the word, and get the attention of Good Charlotte! Thank you so much. Three of our songs are attached. www.myspace.com/billyandfriends

Technically you didn't play with them.

And DC Flag have gone stale, there was onlyu ever two realeases and they were from 2004.
Well that's just it. Technically we didn't. However we "technically" did. Thing is we were asked by the venue if we wanted to play with them, and we payed a bunch of money to play that day. The ticket said *ahem* Good Charlotte, Boys Like Girls, The Maine, Metro Station and special guests. We were special guests. lol So we got kinda shafted, but we were on the ticket, so, eh. And between you and me, I know they've gone stale, and I saw they had those two bands, but I figure posting it around might draw some attention, maybe pull someone in to look. Crazy world, ya never know.
Good Luck with your dream.
thank you. We can't NOT do it. It's the closest thing I've tasted to destiny.
I think that's fantastic! I checked out their page and their songs. They're really good! I think everyone else should too and help spread the word. I definitely am! Any band that likes GC is pretty awesome in my book! =)
No thanks.

I'm not a fan of people who promote on here just so they can be seen by the band, who almost never comes on here anymore.
Well I'm not promoting just to be seen by the band. That night, when I was waiting to meet GC, all of the people around me were pleasant, everyone talked to everyone about anything. It's like instant brotherhood and sisterhood with GC fans, so I figured what better people to come to? And we have to have high hopes. ALMOST never. But GC pays attention to their fans, and I can only hope for the best. That's just how it is. :]
You are promoting.
But if your aims are to be signed to DC Flag, a defunct label, you may as well be busking on the high street.

You played at the same venue as them, actually a different hall, so it doesn't count as playing with the band. The way you worded your statement, it was like 'ha, we played with Good Charlotte, are you jealous?'

I don't like to rain on anyone's parade, but if you are going to be so specific about your 'dream' then, I hate to tell you, you are going to fail. And the blatant self-promotion is vomit inducing.
Ya know what, I love you. Let me spell this out specifically for you:

1.)Yes, I am promoting, I don't deny it.
2.) I know the label is "defunct," I just thought it was strike a chord, grab attention.
3.)I wasn't trying to make it sound like you should be jealous. How can you assume that from typed text that uses no inflections nor perceptible connotation? I was simply making a nice tie in that we came so close, and we're gonna make it happen next time.
4.)I love your doubts. It just makes me all the more eager to prove you wrong. GC was told they'd never get anywhere, and that pursuing music isn't a real career, but they showed everyone what was up. So be pessimistic, but this is the GOOD CHARLOTTE site: the least fitting place to go talking about failure and impossibility.
5.) Again, it is promotion. It is blatant. Here's a barfbag.
THIS IS NOT A SITE FOR SELF-PROMOTION.
'Let me spell this out specifically for you'- who the hell do you think you are?

I DO know what its like to work hard. I am a graphic designer and have work at 7 years to get what I want. Posting the same thread 3 times on the one message board, doesn't spread any words, except annoyed ones, aimed at you.

Go an get a Myspace band site like all the other indenti-kit bands.

'GOOD CHARLOTTE site: the least fitting place to go talking about failure and impossibility'-erm HELLO, did you hear the Greatest Remixes?

haha
Heeey, I LOVE your music, guys! Amazing.
Good luck with everything, I support you :D
Don't pretend like you know everything.

I have had to work hard at music for 7 years to get where I am now, so we're much in the same boat as far as time goes. Posting around does spread the word, because others aside from you have liked the music and contacted us on the myspace site THAT WE ALREADY HAVE, which you'd have known if you looked at the main message of the discussion I started.

I'm not really a fan of the greatest remixes either. They're barely remixes so much as new songs not by GC to me. It's like...a line of a GC song repeated for 10 seconds, then someone rapping over a seemingly new track. lol :/ I kinda agree with you there, but they were remixed by other people, not GC, and either way that doesn't make the BAND a failure. Look where they are and what they mean to people. I mean, you obviously must value the band to be here, right?
