I was harassed at a hot topic many years ago. this guy followed me around the store making fun of my gc hat. he was talking really loud too. he would not leave me alone. i eventually left the store in embarrassment.
Unfortunately, everybody in my AP English class (save for this girl that sits next to me, and she backs me up) does not like GC, and therefore we get made fun of constantly for being Good Charlotte fans.
Yeah, it happens... I usually just laugh... Be a boring world if we all liked the same bands... I just tell people that I'm just as entitled to my opinion as they are, and I think [insult item of clothing etc here] is stupid/horrible etc... people need to get over themselves...
My daughter gets embarrassed when I wear GC shirts into Hot Topic or around some of her friends. We went to see "We the Kings" in February and I wore one of my GC hoodies. She wasn't too thrilled but I ended up running into a myspace friend of mine because of the hoodie. I'm not embarrassed for being a GC fan.
The other day I went grocery shopping and my suv has GC all over it. This guy and girl were walking to the store, passed my suv and as I went into the store I heard them behind me say loud enough for me to hear something about loving a band to extremes. I just gave them a dirty look and went about the business of shopping. Because. People are idiots when it comes to what others like. They think that if they don't like something that its dumb. I ignore them because I love what I love and I'll never see these people again and who the heck cares what they think? NEVER be embarressed for what you love or what you believe in. Don't be ashamed of loving GC. People think its wierd for a woman my age to love them like I do. But I don't give a flying fig what they say or think. :) I'm a GC fan and proud of it!
Very few people know I listen to GC so no I don't have that issue...and in what like 9 years the only time i've ever meet people who like GC is at their shows, which is kinda sad 'cause I've been all over the west coast...not one. wow
Maybe if I start hanging out with junior high kidds??? from prep schools? lol j/k...kinda
When I was in high school people did. But in college a lot more people were more open about stuff like this. Hell, I know a lot of people who listen to pop boy bands like NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, me being one of them. lol
In college???? Wow, I'm pleasantly surprised. I always thought college was full of kids who are all into real independent stuff. I know UVM here in Vermont has a lot of kids like that.
My daughter tries to steal mine but they're all to big. I'll give them to her when she fits them...if she still likes GC. Which I'm kinda guessing she will 'cause she's a pretty devoted fan of them, no doubt(gwen) and pink
Yep.
But got used to it.
I like a lot of stuff, I love my music. Unless said person can enjoy a wide variety, then I will not even rate their opinion. But then, its just that, opinion
