Humans are so cruel its disgusting.

So I was watching Paris's BFF (I like it and want to see who goes home!) and a group went with Paris to Japan for the Japan VMAs. They go out to dinner and they are sitting in front of the hot skillet where the food is being prepared. To let people see how fresh the seafood is, they took a poor shrimp that was ALIVE and threw it on that hot skillet. Now thats just cruelty in the extreme in my opinion. Just because a creature doesn't have higher intelligence doesn't mean it can't feel pain. Thats torture. The poor shrimp was writhing and it was just disgusting. :( To some its just a shrimp..and who cares. But I CARE! This one girl who was with Paris's group jumped up and went out side in shock. Paris followed her and comforted her saying she loves animals too. People make me sick with their 'we are more intelligent and we have to eat therefore we don't care how we go about the process'. Just saying it makes me sick of us humans when I see that kind of cruelty. And you know what? Being cruel like that does show up in other areas of people's lives. If a person can do that to an animal or some helpless creature..they can do that to a human. In my humble and uneducated emotional opinion. :(

It was totally disgusting. They actually showed that poor shrimp being tortured to death. I love shrimp..but if a person is going to cook one..it should already be dead. That image is still with me, actually. :(

That's horrible, poor shrimp!!
But I saw even worse...<=( Like jerks who cruelly killed a poor whale on a beach with harpoons, or m************ who killed racoons hitting them on the floor with all their hearts, catching the racoons by the tail, the poor animals were bleeding and I remember a close-up on the eye of a racoon in tears that made me cry!! I couldn't watch more of the video!
That was absolutely DISGUSTING & HORRIBLE!!!!! xO

Those kinds of abuse and killing make me cry too! I don't know why some think its okay to do that. Its just sick and disgusting. I hope the people who do that kind of stuff rot in hell. Just because an animal, shrimp or anything else that lives can't talk or have what WE consider intelligence doesn't mean we have the right to inflict pain and abuse on the creature. I know we have to eat and all..but even most creatures in the wild don't do the kind of stuff we do. They usually kill quickly. Some animals have been known to kill just for fun..but they are far and few between. And good old intelligent MAN is the only creature that kills for monetary gain.

yeah, that bothered me alot last night when I saw that on the show. I try not to eat a lot of meat. The problem is, my husband loves it. So, we always have it in the house. I could easily live with no meat. I even try to avoid killing bugs if I can help it.

That raccoon story makes me sick!!! Oh my God!!!! when I hear stuff like that I get so angry!!!

They could have not shown that portion or better yet..be humane enough to not put it on the grill live. DISGUSTING. I can't kill anything even bugs. I am with you on being angry because its just not right. If I could, I wouldn't eat meat either. But I have to. I just couldn't stand watching that last night. It still is stuck in my mind. :( And the poor racoon. What is the matter with some people????! I personally think that anyone who can do that is evil.

I agree. I love shrimp. I'm not saying that it's good that they showed it on tv or anything. But thats how they are cooked. I honestly don't see anything wrong with that. I'm not supporting cruelty to animals or anything. But that's just how they are prepared.

I love shrimp. But I don't want to watch one being burned alive on a skillet. Sorry but there are better ways to cook them then that. :( I don't like seeing that stuff.

But you have to see that they were in a different country with different customs. Some people do things different. Something that may be wrong to you, might just be fine to them. You can't be so ethocentric.

And I don't see how it's any different from when people boil lobsters alive. Except it's not done right in front of you.

I acknowledge that different countries have different customs and thats all good. I can appreciate that. I've watched enough programs where people do kill their animals and such before having them for dinner. It does bother me though and I hate seeing it. I won't eat lobsters because of how its done. I won't eat veal at all because I know how they keep the calves in these dark barns until its deemed time to slaughter them. My husband orders it when we go out because I won't bring any into the house. It bothers me. I know they kill the animals before they get to market...and don't think that doesn't cross my mind. I just think sometimes people go too far when it comes to 'harvesting' the meat. Just my humble opinion. I didn't appreciate seeing that shrimp being toasted alive, truthfully.
