So it was a little hard to believe that GC actually knew PEI existed let alone would actually show up here and play but they did. The show was last night, an outdoor festival event with them being the 4th of 5th acts to play (Alanis Morrisette was the final act). PEI is almost like another world at times, our radio stations suck and if you're not a canadian band you probably have no clue about it. We get a lot of Canadian acts, but most bands that are big elsewhere rarely make it past Toronto/Montreal...needless to say it was a huge deal. I honestly couldn't believe how many other GC fans I saw last night, it was pretty amazing .
The show was short but pretty much perfect even though Benji was not there. Ya apparently he got stuck in Hartford or something cause he missed his flight or something and being the small place we are, we only have one flight a day from the states or something I'm not a 100 percent sure on the details. They had some guy named Neil I believe playing Benji's guitars and he did extremely well. I'm so f****** greatful that they didn't just cancel and so thankful to this Neil kid for stepping in and allowing us islanders to still have a show. The set list is slipping my mind at the moment, it's all kind of a blur but Joel was pretty funny making jokes about Anne of Green Gables(what PEI is known for) and talking about if they should boot Benji from the band or not for not being there. Paul was taking pictures of the crowd and the boys on stage, Billy made quite a goofy pose for him. Joel made a lot of silly faces and poses for pictures on stage between songs. I think Mark took some pictures as well. My favorite part of it was Joel realizing we all get sick of being known for Anne and talking about how we could make it cool by naming a new kind of alcohol Anne of Green Gables or making it the code name for crack..wtf OH and when he talked about how Canada makes such amazing music <3 damn right we do. Sorry this is so all over the place, I'm exhausted. MY camera was acting like s*** since it is a piece of s*** but I'll have to see when i upload the pictures if any turned out, I took a few videos too.
But really all I wanted to say is thanks so much to GC for making a lot of us Islanders so happy by finally appearing here, even though I know they most likely won't see/read this. I think we have so much of a greater appreciation of it because we rarely get the chance to see them without traveling to Toronto which is a long way away and they don't exactly frequent Toronto often either. All you US kids and even a lot of you in Europe are so lucky, I hope you never take it for granted!

One of my friends from MySpace attended that show as well. She is from the Montreal area. I can't wait to hear from her. I'm so glad you guys got to see GC, even though Benji didn't make it. He was supposed to be DJing Friday night at Octoberfest in Hartford CT. I hadn't heard he missed his flight. Thank God someone stepped in for him. I would have been sad if I was there but at least you got three quarters of GC. Better than nothing at all.
I can kind of imagine what PEI is like. Living in Vermont here in the states pretty much sucks too. It is it's own little world. The people living here strive to keep it as rural and backwards as possible I think. We get some good shows at a club in Burlington but most people think we are either rednecks or hippies here. I am neither. I love a good rock show and I travel out of Vermont as often as I can to attend concerts. Even our radio stations, in Central Vermont anyway, suck!!! They don't play Good Charlotte, that is for sure.
Wow! That sounds so exciting! Glad you had a great time and that you got to see GC! Poor Benji missing his flight... I bet Joel yelled at him! ;) lol Sounds like the guys were having fun. :) One thing I have to say about GC is that they DO try and get to as many places as they can. If you get pictures I can't wait to see them. :)
The show was awesome! Drove up from Nova Scotia, and drove back the same night was exahusting but soooo worth it. Me and My Sis were right on the baracade to the right side infront of the speakers (right infront of paul) It was awesome! I couldn't belive GC actualy came to the maritimes. It was disapointing that Benji missed it but the guys still did an amazing job. It sucked their merch never showed up though. Joel gave me a funny look at one point, I dunno how to explaine it. I think he might of been looking at my MEST hoodie to be honest. But ya I was blown away by how good they are live. I mean I've seen quite a few bands live and not many of them sound as good as they do on CD but GC did. I was really happy they played so many songs from TYATH. Though I was kinda hoping they would play Festival song, cause it was a festival but o-well. I'm not one to really go crazy for bands, i don't freak out and scream and stuff, but I went nuts when they came on I kinda felt like I was 15 again in my bedroom jamming out to TYATH.

So glad you and your sister had fun. Good Charlotte is an amazing live band. I can't get enough of them. I'm happy that they played up your way. I don't know how long of a drive it is from Nova Scotia to Prince Edward Island but I've driven eight hours straight to see them, and I'd do it again in a second!!!
Woohoo! I loved reading your experience! :) I love GC and watching them live on stage! :) They put their hearts into it! :) LOL at Joel. :) Glad you had fun. :)
I also forgot to mention how amazing my boyfriend is for driving us up there, since he ended up not getting home till almost four in the morning and had to go in to work for nine. If it wasn't for him I never would of got to see them.
