Good Charlotte

What do you guys think about this? Some bands including Good Charlotte tune their guitars a half-step lower so the singer can hit the note. Also sometimes they don't sing the high melody part but sing a backup voicing.

It's a good idea but sometimes can make people feel like it's not "the actual thing".

You're talking dropping the note live as opposed to on CD?

I think it's pretty necessary, especially if said singer's voice is over produced on the record.
Yes that's what I'm talking about.

More specifically, I mean tuning the guitars and bass a half-step lower so the highest note the singer has to hit will be lower.

The tuning is different from the CD.
yeah. i noticed that. it doesnt bother me or anything. i especially notice it when joel goes "he calls her up" (i dont wanna be in love) live, compared to how it is on the album. i think its cool, different though!! ;)
like jamie said, the records make everything abs perfect and they are over produced. computers can just change everything nowadays.
I'm not complaining. honestly if it leads to a great performance and the crowd is happy, who cares?
I also don't care that much. Why I care is because when our band plays covers or we play along with the concerts and videos, it affects us.
that's cool.
