Iowa. Not impressed by the treatment of fans...
I went to the Iowa show...drove down from Minnesota just to see them because they weren't coming to my state/town. I was going to make the most of it and try to meet the guys. Well i showed up super early (7:30am) in hopes that my friend and i would be able to meet them before the show. I wanted to show the guys the tattoo i had gotten (the same GC tattoo they all have on the back of their left arm, only on my back) and finally meet them after being a fan for seven years. Well, not one of them would give my friend and i a second of their time, except Billy, but even he wasn't too happy to do it.
We drove all that way and waited for so long just to get an autograph and picture with each of them. Granted they had all just woken up, which i can understand, but there was only two of us waiting and it would have taken five minutes. All i was asking for was an autograph and picture...that's it.
After hearing Joel talk about how excited he was to get out there and talk to each and every fan i definitely wasn't expecting to just be brushed off the way i was. The way they all talk about how much they love their fans and how they owe it all to the fans...well i sure wasn't feeling the love.
It just really bummed me out that they were such jerks about it. Sorry guys, but i lost a little respect for you yesterday.
On another note, the show was amazing. We were front row. You still put on an amazing show guys! You still have a fan in me-just one that's quite disappointed.

I'm still cranky at 7:30 am and on most days I wake up at 5:00 am. Jeez, they're human.

I can understand all of that, but like i said there was two of us and it would have taken five minutes. It just pissed me off that the people who talk so much about how much they love their fans and how they owe their life to the fans couldn't take 5 minutes of their life to sign their name and take a picture. I still love them, don't get me wrong. It just bummed me out. I see your points and trust me i'm with you, but it was a little disappointing.

I understand about being a little upset but just remember they are humans so next time you're might have a better chance and hope you do!! :) I think a lot of us had been there and had that happened, but I could be wrong but I'll say it happened to me one time Joel and Benji didn't even come out so at least they came out which is good thing :)

Yeah, I totally agree with you guys. I know they're humans. I never said i didn't. I understand bad days. All i was trying to say was how disappointed i was that they were such jerks about it. They didn't have to be that way. But yeah, hopefully next time!

Apparently Joel hurt his back. So maybe that's why? I'm sorry you were so close to meeting them and you got shrugged away. We all hope to meet them one day. =)

someone else from the iowa show got to meet joel and paul, so i guess they did come out after the show.
maybe next time? i hope so anyway. the shows i go to they always come out. except for once i think haha.

Well they're only human. They're not going to be all full of sunshine and rainbows.
They just woke up, probably didn't even know they had people waiting. When I wake up, I'm a walking zombie for at least an hour and I don't know what I'm doing.

I remember hearing Flea from Red hot chili peppers saying that he was really tired and hungry one time. He was sitting in a restaurant getting ready to eat his meal and a fan came up to him and he totally went ballistic on her. He was so sorry afterwards but he said he was so hungry and had had a bad day and all he wanted to do is eat and it just set him off.
People are people. You have to understand.
