Alone (The Only One)
Anyone here (like me) is the only one in their school or whatever the only person around who likes GC and is constantly being made fun of because of it? Like kind of living a life that you always have to live by "the anthem" ("Don't want to be you, Don't want to be just like you")? If you are talk about it here and stand strong for GC, The best band ever no matter what those other people say!

aaaaaaaaaall the damn time! it doesnt matter, cos the rest of 'em have not been educated XD. no, there are a couple who i have spread the GC word to, & they like it :D. but yeah, people make fun of me a lot, but in the end, it's my life! btw, the anthem is the only thing that gets me up in the morning, or i swear, i would never surface from that duvet.

yep. the only ppl i know that like gc are my family and my gf only cause i like gc so much so she decided to give them a shot. But its nice 2 have a place to get away from that and unite with other gc fans. gc fans unite! ;p

all my "friends" like screamo. some of its ok but stuff like "lamb of god" and "children of bodom" are like so stupid. and they think gc isnt music. PAH!!! and you don't even need to be good at singing to scream. its like.. omg.. just almost not music. no offence to gc fans that like a bit of screamo like me ("bullet for my valentine" only first album, "Story of the year" and other band that sing more or equal to screaming.)

You find this in every school. One day I wore a GC shirt to school and some guy came up to me and started to make fun of GC. I just smiled and nodded my head, you kinda just have to ignore these types of things and listen to what music you like. And not care if no one else likes them or not.

Once you get out of school, there's a whole new world of acceptance. Best thing is that you know who you are, and don't follow the trends out there. Once you hit the real world, more is accepted.
So what if people make fun of GC fans, you know how much the band means to you, so don't let those people hate on you. Ignore them.
I went through all 4 years of high school being hated on, and here I am. Use that hate and turn it into something positive, and find good friends that love em' too.

thanks all you people. i'm going into high school next year and ssome comments by you guys show me how it's gonna be for the next 4 years. I have already lost the one person that care about me and likes gc with me because she's going to a different high school. Next year i will be the only fan because almost all the same people from my elementary school are coming to this high school. I hope i will be able to stand strong for my favorite band that has shown me so many things about life. At least i always know that there's all you guys at gc.com to turn to to talk with some fans that have the same interests as me. Thanks :p

I just graduated from high school and I was the only fan at my school but I really didn't let what other people say get to me. I stood by thme because I know what I like and too bad if no one else does.

yea but someday theyre gonna regret it. i listen to wat gc sez. they dont follow other ppl theyre leaders. im so fed up with the popular kids in my school tho so i just do wat i wanna do and im not ashamed of gc at all.

When I was a freshman in High school, I was totally infatuated with the Beatles. However, this was 1977 and the Beatles had been broken up for years. Kids were listening to stuff like Styx and Boston and bands like that. I was made fun of so much that year. It was absolutely horrible. I remember it well. I learned to keep my musical taste to myself. Now I love GC and other than my daughter, and Bessie on here, I don't know of any GC fans here in my state. But, of course, I'm not a school kid anymore. But my daughter is and she is really into Screamo. She dresses kind of goth/emo and everyone in the whole school used to pick on her because 99% of her school are all preppies and jocks and brains. She stood her ground though, and has befriended most everyone who used to make fun of her.
