So yeah, that's what this is about!
What guitars do you have and which genres doe you play most?
Do you play covers or your own created music?
Well, I use an Music-Man Sub-1 and Ibanez AG75.
I play mostly rock and metal.
I don't cover songs that often, just playing my own music:)

i have a fender starcaster its black and white and i love it - have only had it since January but am getting the hang of it :D lol

- a cheap acoustic that i got myself started on
- an alpine white epiphone (the one i use most of da time)
- a gibson les paul wine red standard electric with 60's neck - just got this a lil while back!!! MY BABY!!! (took a lotta work in saving up for it but SO worth it!)
i play songs from bands i like (GC,radiohead,sum 41,linkin park etc etc) but most of the time i just play the songs that me n my band write.we play only our own songs at gigs tho

I really want to learn, 'cause a. I want to use my guitar (acoustic 'cause that's the only kind I like), b. I want to play covers and c. I want to write a song for BenLoka.
Any advice for a total n00b on how to teach myself?

Wow you're so lucky you got to meet them. I havn't been so lucky [not yet anyway]. They're touring again in October [so they've said but they're not known for their organisation haha] so I'll have to try and meet them then

haha.ok.well if that didnt work for u then i guess ur best bet is to learn some basic chords first i guess.just google some chords and then i think the next step would be to learn how to read tabs.once u got that down u can start playin = )

I 'play' if thats what its called. ;) Basically..I need some lessons. I know a few chords but nothing magical. I want Benji to give me lessons. :) lol Actually I've been meaning to take my Benji Madden guitar up to the local shop and take lessons. I am going to join this group of older ladies and we are going to be called:
THE ROCKIN MAMAS! :) LOL
