I hear that a lot from young guys. I think some are just jealous or they want to appear like they 'know music'. Trendy stuff that is in if you know what I mean. They have a macho approach to music a lot of times in my opinion.
I agree with you Beverly. I think guys especially like to hate on GC because deep down they are jealous as hell that the GC guys are living the good life, making music and enjoying the fame and fortune that comes with it. Back in Bon Jovi's heyday in the mid to late Eighties, when I was following them all over, I got so much flack from guys who absolutely hated Jon Bon Jovi. I remember my husband and his friend Craig talking about him one night and Craig said what really pissed him off is that Jon Bon Jovi could walk into a bar and get any woman he wanted without even trying. That sounds like jealously to me. I think it is the same with GC.
I like Good Charlotte myself and they are not sellout posers because they are the bestest band in the world apart as well as Linkin Park but I have been backstage and seen them and shook their hands and got their autographs but they are not sellout posers
Definatley jealousy..'look what its done'. Who the hell wouldn't love to be able to have that kind of money and recognition???!! But the only drawback is the Pesky Paps. I would hate them and end up giving the finger or some other rude gesture. ;) But guys who say they hate GC would love to be in that position!!! Jealousy is very green indeed. ;)
I dont think US hates GC, its just that people quit listening. At least from my perspective, if someone finds out you're a fan, they sometimes ridicule you, yes call you a poser, tell you how much GC sucks, and says you're dumb for listening to it. Its because its out of style. And whatever the IN crowd is doing, if you aren't doing it, then you're OUT. Whatever... *rolls eyes* I pretty much do what I want. And although I keep my fandom to myself, I do pull out the GC CD to listen and remember the memories that the music gave me. But I'm a sentimental chap. And I'm not even from England..
It doesn't matter what the U.S. as a whole thinks, it matters what we think on our own. I know a lot of people that don't like them, but they can suck my @$$#073 :-D I'm just happy that I'm still a Good Charlotte fan after about 6 years. There are still the hardcore fans here and there and we're still keeping the Good Charlotte family strong!
