My hometown is really small and boring but the b-52's Love Shack video was filmed 6 minutes from my house.
the actual house is still standing...the checkered roof is still in tact...it looks like an abandoned pee wee's playhouse... there's a huge gate around it now though once you get down the long road.. Apparently more than a few people thought it would be a good story to tell if they actually shacked up in the love shack.
The bar across from the lake was used to film Animal House. Obviously the frat house for the U of O is still there, as frathousey as ever.
I've never seen the movie to be truthful. I hear that they apparently 'walk' from the bar to campus in the movie. Which is unrealistic since we're 20 miles away.
I live In Gotheburg. So there's an amusement park called Liseberg there, not that superbig. But it's still a place to visit a couple of times on the summers.
I live in Duxbury Vermont, which is about as small and as boring as can be. But, one time on the show Northern Exposure, it got mentioned. I almost pissed myself. Also, in Waterbury, the next town over, where I work, Jim Carrey filmed part of Me, Myself and Irene. I actually watched some of the filming and it was kinda interesting. Also, Harrison Ford was here filming What Lies Beneath, which is a pretty good movie, with Michelle Phiffer. I guess that is Waterbury's claim to fame. Oh yeah, the Green Mountain Coffee Roasters factory is here, and so is the Ben and Jerry's factory.
I live in the Northern Territory, Australia, and about 2 minutes away from where i live, they shot the scene in Crocodile Dundee where the woman is at the water and the croc jumps out of the water at her so yeah..
I'm not too sure whether you guys know where the N.T is though :p
Or if you've even seen Crocodile Dundee for that matter haha. Ah well.
I loved Crocodile Dundee! Remember that one scene though where the leading lady was in a thong IN THE BUSH???! How uncomfortable and how unrealistic. When that huge croc came out of nowhere I jumped!!! ;) And may I say I was hooked on watching Steve Irwin. If not for him I would have never changed my opinions of crocs. Although I would never want to swim with them. ;) :) lol
I hate snow. Do you get lots of it? I hate it. I wouldn't do very well in a climate that was always snowing or cold. I love the beach and the warm sunny days of summer. :)
Ah.. I can't remember her being in the thong, it was a while ago that i watched it though..
Steve Irwin was pretty mad, i loved his shows.. I can't say the same for Bindi's show haha :p "Bindi The Jungle Girl" It's a bit weird that Steve's still got his own part on that show anyway..
Haha, they've opened up a new place in town called Crocosaurus Cove, and you can go "swimming" with a croc. They put you in a perspex cage and put it the water, about half a metre away from a 4.5 metre croc.. Good thing it's really lazy and doesn't give two s**** about people being in there XD
