Good Charlotte

I used to love GC they were it no other bands would even enter my world until Good Morning Revival. The band that I once loved appears to be heading techno and commercialised. What happened to when GC was a band that was unaired on mainstream pop radio. Don't get me wrong I am thrilled for their success but I can't help but feel a little sold down the river. I just hope that their next album can find its way out of mainstream a bit or at least out of Techno.

Agree GC will ever be one of my fav bands, but since GMR it's not the same... I miss the Sickboy and Kid Vicious good old days!
I'm hoping th same as you with th next album, something more goodcharlottefull would be great!
I'm also impressed with th big succes they've had this last years, but i still missin our young and hopeless days
I'm psyched I'm not the only one, I just felt really disappointed with that album I loved all their otha album but heres hoping next would be more like the originals
Yeah! I mean i don't dislike it, but first time i heard it i was like: "hey! is this really gc?? cuz it no f***** way sounds like my gc!"
I can't stop being a fan, i really luv em but as you, there's a lot of hope on the next album
damn right but the only prob with next album is high expectations leads to disaster as u build it up son much its guaranteed not to live up to your expectations. I don't know what to do if this is the new path that they want to pursue, like u i luv em but a fan can only go so far if the band lets them down
i agree with the 'techno' bit.... i liked it when there wasnt any sound effects...... But anyway.. i still lovem!!!!!
hey guys. i have to say GMR is my least favourite album of theirs. it's really grown on me though from when i first heard it and it sounds awesome live. but anyways, every band has to experiment and do what feels right for them at the time. they can't keep making the same record over and over, no matter how much we may love it! as long as the boys stay true to themselves and write what's important to them at the time they'll stay happy with their work and keep producing more. i can't wait to see what they come up with next!
I do miss the old GC, but I don't really think that they're commercialised or something, they're the same band and the same people, just grown up. They changed because they HAD TO. The fans would get bored to hear the same things again and again, they had to grow up and do something diffrent.. The lyrics are diffrent because they're living something eles than then used to, and they're just singing about their lives. They can't stay the kinds they were forever... Even i like more the old GC, i think they're just doing what they have to, and what feels right for them.
I'm not disappointed.. i love all the albums. GMR was a positive surprise for me, I guess I'm growing up too, because before GMR came out I started to listen electronica..And GMR has got some influences of it. I still love punkrock, poppunk or however we call their first records, but yeah. They are growing up, but so are we - nevertheless, the first albums will always stay in our hearts!
Good Morning Revival was not one of the best GC albums however they are still the boys that used to get me through my highschool Drama days so I give them my deepest thanks.. but What you gotta realize is that they are growing up, they are no longer "green" or new to the music scene anymore and as they continue to grow the music may change but there hearts will not. The love will always be there!
i now what you mean but the guys have to try different things
they like to learn more of different music and i became jused to it
everyone has his own meaning of their music and i respect that! ;)
Yea, I guess I felt a little like that too at first, about their new style for that album. But then, you just have to remember that you know, they wanted to try something new so thumbs up to them for going through with it, even though they didn't really know how their fans would react to it.

I think it's still an awesome album, no matter how much it's different. The way I see it, the more they explore, the more things they discover, the better their music will be, in the end.
I'm sick of posts like this.

Are you f****** kidding me?

Bands change.
It would be so goddamn boring if a band continuously had the same music all the time.

GMR is a fantastic album. I don't think it could have been any better.
