The Earthquake in China

I don't know if you guys have heard or have not heard of this- since they didn't really make a big deal of it in the US. And I didn't realize it till my mum told me about it watching a Chinese Charity show for it. But an earthquake struck in some part of China and around 70k people were killed. Survivors lost their family (kids,parents,siblings, etc.) and now alot are homeless, without water/food, etc.

I sitting comfortably in front of my internet screen, did not really understand the atrocity till my mom came into my room and I actually saw her crying after watching the charity shows for it and even pledge to donate $1000.
I was pretty surprised since I've never seen her react that way. And now I realize how fortunate I am to be sitting comfortable in my condo and just playing mmos and cramming for tests. I mourn for those who lost their families and their homes- and those survivors who are now living in terrible conditions :/

So yeah what are your thoughts about this terrible disaster?
