Would you rather skank or mosh? Personally, I would definately chose skanking over moshing any day.

I know, I know it hurts.
Skanking till the day I die.

I fall over if i mosh. Which can be funny, in a Slayer pit, its sore
Iwas hoping someone else would say: what is skanking?

I have no idea.....

At my 1st GC concert last aug. 12th I almost DIED in the moshpit. I don't understand how ppl stay through that! There's NO breathing room cause it seems like ppl are like on top of you, etc.... the force was crazy so we just moved to the side of the stage even thou I was front & center like 3 rows back at that show! It was a great spot. Before the show started it was NUTS! When the maine came on, whoah. I felt like if we didn't move, wed die that night. Plus, my friend was wearing flip flops. Haha!
SKANK!!!!!!!!!!!! i love skanking is aweeeesooooommmmee :D i like moshing to but i can survive without moshing i couldnt survive without skanking
Its dancing like a fanny.
ala

watch his feet get longer as his socks come off, haha.

GC pits are nothing. Worst pit ever, was children of bodom, my god, wall of death almost killed me. Metal pits are the worse.
I agree metal pits are insane. Wow, I wouldn't mind seeing Children of Bodom. That is one metal band I haven't seen yet. I love "watching" the Wall of Death but never have participated. I'd probably get killed. LOL. Seriously though, I have always thought skanking was more of a ska thing. Moshing, or what we used to call slam dancing, was a punk or metal thing. As for the people who were b******* about these things in the earlier comments, I have always said, if you don't want to be in the mosh pit, don't try to stand in front of the stage at the kind of show that has moshing. My sister's friend went to a metal show at our local club (her first metal show ever, the only other show she had been to was the Dave Matthews band.) She stands right up front then b****** because people were moshing around her and she gets hit in the head. Then she threatens to sue to club. I was pissed when I heard that. It was her own dumb fault. Thank goodness nothing ever came of it.
I miss the days where I'd go to local shows and come home with a s*** load of bruises up and down my arms. Even on my hips sometimes.

Yep.
I was hardcore.
I used to do that too.
It wasn't skank or mosh, just looking like an utter tit.
But everyone was doing the same so it wasn't so bad, lol
Personally, (I just watched that video on 'skanking') I don't like either, thankuveramuch. I want to go to the shows and actually WATCH and listen to the performers and not have to worry about getting killed. Mostly because I'm OLD and don't want to have to watch out for skankers and moshers because I most likely would end up in the emergency room. I would much rather stare at Benji, Joel or any of the other performers and listen to and enjoy them as they do their thing. I will say when Joel moshed at the 930 club, I was so happy he did NOT come my way because I would probably have dropped him! ;) :)
Don't worry about me. I hate mosh pits. I was actually in one once. I survived. The only good thing I can see about mosh pits..if your young and unattached..you can be plastered against some young guy and its legal. ;) Thats the only good thing about them. ;)
Joel crowd surfed at the 930 club??? Wow, I know I wouldn't have dropped him, I've passed many people over my head at shows. Like I said, I don't mosh or skank or anything but I like to watch it. I haven't seen any moshing at GC shows though.
